DANIEL KRAUSE

  "Re-Assembled History"

While living in China from 1987-2018, Daniel watched first hand, China’s transformation from an agricultural based society to a bustling industrial power house. He watched the pre student uprising of June 1989, the aftermath and reported with the London Times newspaper and the BBC radio and television stations. Re-Assembled History symbolizes how history is recorded by one point of view and how it is understood differently by different governments and societies. History has many observed and recorded perspectives. Depending on who is recording the historical event, it can be perceived and written very differently. Re-Assembled History is a deconstructed and re-building of China’s Terracotta Warriors, symbolizing the different degrees which history is recorded and stored. The Warriors are one of the reasons Daniel was drawn to China.
