Each Windcatcher is lovingly handcrafted, balanced, and adjusted to best catch the slightest breeze. One or more Windcatchers will add a delightful dance of motion to your garden. A mere puff of wind will set it to spinning; a stronger breeze will invoke a swirling/dipping dance; and a gale can put it through even more strenuous gyrations. The heaviest of winds will rarely knock a Windcatcher from its perch.
Please feel free to suggest custom designs. The individual figures (man,woman,boy,girl) can be mixed, matched, and combined to reflect your family, group of friends, co-workers, or whatever.
Wind catchers make wonderful gifts. Even an apartment dweller often has a balcony where a Windcatcher can dance in a potted plant, or the patio stand allows you to place it on patio surfaces. The skier or cowboy could represent a hobby or dream, the raven a love of birds, the angel a passed loved one. Consider the couple as a wedding or anniversary gift and a child as a momento of a new arrival.

Materials: Windcatchers are made of welded steel that takes on a rusted patina and darkens with age after being exposed to the weather. Elements such as rocks and brass are added in some designs. Each figure comes with a metal stake to be driven into the ground or a potted plant.

About the artist:

Julie Burnham lives with her husband, son and animals at her home in Penrose, Colorado. They built a solar home that includes woodworking and metalworking studios.
Her interest in metal work began while earning a fine arts degree at CSU in 1979.
For many years Julie has been a member of the regional Artist Blacksmiths Association and still enjoys attending blacksmithing workshops, giving demonstrations and using her coal fire forge.
